Jordyn's Story: Friend // Daughter // Teacher // Woman that matters

Jordyn’s Story

Friend // Daughter // Teacher // Woman that matters

en·dur·ance

/inˈd(y)o͝orəns,enˈd(y)o͝orəns/

noun

the fact or power of enduring or persevering through a difficult process or situation without giving way.

One of my favorite passages comes from a letter that Paul wrote to the Jewish people in Jerusalem during the 1st century. He said, “let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.”

We are all on a race. We are running, walking, deep breathing, gasping for air, sweating, etc. through life. We are doing our best to run our race and to do it with endurance. Some days we can feel like just giving up on our race. But we are not without hope or a place to find our endurance! Paul continues to write in that passage that we can keep going through our race by “fixing our eyes on Jesus.” He gave it all for us centuries ago during a season that we now celebrate called Easter (pretty timely!) He was with us then, so why would He leave us now? We can find our continued strength by keeping our eyes on him, the only constant and true comfort in a world that is ever-changing.

Jordyn is currently running her race, and she could use a reminder to keep persevering with endurance. One of her loving friends wrote to us explaining that anxiety has always been a struggle for Jordyn, but she found comfort in being home with her family. Until recently, her family has been a safe place for her. Jordyn has navigated some difficult times with her family, and she now faces the struggle of facing her parents’ divorce. While she navigates this, she is also feeling the weight of finding a job as a school teacher.

“She could use a reminder that God has a plan for her,” and we can remind her of this! She is not alone! We do not have to run our race with endurance alone.

Would you commit to writing Jordyn a letter? A few simple words can speak greater volumes than you could ever know! Remind her that she matters!
