16 Jane Doe’s Stories

Friends / Daughters / College students / Women that matter

heard

/hir/

verb

To be listened to, to be payed attention to

Every person has a story. Some parts of our stories can be hard, but every person deserves to be heard.

A recent legal case has opened regarding 16 anonymous women who experienced various instances of sexual assault and rape on a University campus. Each of these former employees or students have made claims that their school downplayed their allegations of sexual assault and rape.

To undergo such an invasive injustice would already be a horrific challenge, but to feel discounted, unheard, and dismissed after gaining the courage to approach authorities can make a person feel so alone.

Now, coming forward, these women are being met with the difficulties and stress of a court battle. On top of this, they are having to relive trauma that deeply imprinted their lives. In this trial, we have the opportunity to remind these women that they are heard, seen and greatly loved by us, but even more so by a perfect Father, God.

Would you commit to writing these women a letter? A few simple words can speak greater volumes than you could ever know! Remind them that they matter!
