Sara's Story: Teacher-Friend-Daughter

Sara’s Story

Teacher // Friend // Daughter // Woman that matters

worth

/wərTH/

noun

the inherent value of something based on the qualities of excellence, usefulness or importance

This world shouts messages constantly. Social media paints images of people’s highlight reels covered with filters. Magazines emphasize airbrushed “perfect” photos and lives. People on these platforms are doing all of the right things, they are so happy, and they have it all together… right? Of course not! None of that is true. For any of us! Life can be hard and we can all feel like we are not worthy or valuable at times. We struggle with comparison, discontentment, and confidence. While it may be discouraging that all of us can face this struggle...it can also be encouraging that we can face it TOGETHER. When we feel that way...we can know that we are not alone.

While the media exclaims one story, I believe that there is a God who offers another story. When our minds get filled with those lies and negative thoughts that say we need to be perfect and have it all together, we can kick them out and exclaim that we ARE worthy! We can be worthy and find our value because we are made in God’s image and He invites us to be His children if we accept His son as our Savior!

Sara is a person, like many of us, that struggles with seeing her value. She is a great elementary school teacher! We have the opportunity to come around Sara right now as she is currently struggling with depression, self worth, and confidence.  She has gone through a challenging relationship and she is having a difficult time seeing the true value in her life.

She is not alone in this battle, and I know that YOU can be an encouragement to her!

Would you commit to writing Sara a letter? A few simple words can speak greater volumes than you could ever know! Remind her that she matters!
