Christie’s Story: Mother / Friend  / Woman that matters

Christie’s Story

Mother / Friend  / Woman that matters

strong·hold

/ˈstrôNGˌhōld/

noun

a place that has been fortified so as to protect it against attack; a place of security or refuge

This month, I have found myself continuing to read over the verse in Psalms where David writes that “The LORD is a refuge for the oppressed, a STRONGHOLD in times of trouble” (Psalm 9.9). It is a seemingly short and simple sentence, but there is something so comforting about that truth, isn’t there?

We have a place of SAFETY and TRUST and DEFENSE and REFUGE when we look to God. When everything in life seems out of control and when we are hurting, we can turn to Him as our refuge. When we feel weak we can cling to God as our STRONGHOLD.

Right now, Christie is facing one of those seasons filled with hurt, and she could use some extra encouragement! Christie unexpectedly lost her husband this past month. It was evident to everyone that he was beloved not only by his wife, Christie, but also by his children, friends, church, and entire community. Even strangers have been impacted by the life of generosity, consistency, and commitment that he led. Christie, her family and their faith have already been such an inspiration to many.

Christie is currently navigating the hurt of losing her husband paired with various anxieties and uncertainties that now lie ahead, and she could use a little extra encouragement.

We have an opportunity to send some love her way. We can remind her that she matters and that there is a STRONGHOLD for her to take hold of.

Would you commit to writing Christie a letter? A few simple words can speak greater volumes than you could ever know! Remind her that she matters!
