I love love love the verse in the book of Ephesians that “In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace.” (Eph. 1.7). These words bring tears to my eyes and they just remind me that God’s grace through Jesus’s sacrifice covers all of our mess-ups and hurt. We are all not perfect by any means, but what hope we can have through Jesus who took all of our debt on the cross! There is so much FREEDOM in that!
Right now, Paul is in need of some reminders of hope and freedom! Paul’s friend wrote explaining that he has been through a lot in his life. After a work-related injury, Paul became addicted to painkillers and then other drugs. After years battling this addiction, losing his family, and many other things Paul got clean, started again, dug into his faith and began to rebuild his life!
However, during the pandemic, Paul has lost his job, he is having difficulty paying his bills, he is now fighting depression, and he is in need of some encouragement and truth poured into him during this difficult time.
What an opportunity we have to come alongside Paul in a time when he needs people and reminders of hope and redemption. We can tell him!!
